Stickey #603 table
A simple reproduction of the Gustav Stickley #603 small table.
Materials: locally-felled oak, ammonia fumed finish with shellac over oil.
This table was around 40 years in the making. A friend of mine's Grandfather was a cabinetmaker, and one of his last incomplete projects was to prepare the timber for this tabletop - a rather nice piece of quarter-saw oak. After he died, this rough top languished in a garden shed for some decades. I was given it during some tidying up and decided to finish the piece off. I don't know what the original design looked like, but with a piece of quartersawn oak I naturally started to think of Gustav Stickley.
